Romania will have one of the greatest economic growths in the EU space in 2023. The economy has had an advance of 4.5% in 2022 and is predicted to have an advance of 2.5% in 2023.

Romania’s economy is rated the 19th most complex and sophisticated of 133 countries in the world, analyzed by Harvard University in the Atlas of Economic Complexity, an ascent of 20 places in just a few years.

Harvard economists say that Romania is a country with upper middle incomes, occupying the 44th place as the richest economy per capita out of 133 studied.

Romania is more complex than expected for its income level. However, Harvard economists say, its economy is expected to grow slowly. Growth Lab’s growth projections for 2030 foresee a growth in Romania of 2.9% annually over the next decade, ranking in the top half of countries globally.

THE ECONOMY OF BRASOV

Currently, the economy of Braşov county is very diversified, with strong accents in the field of industry, compared to 2008, when we presented ourselves as a predominantly commercial county.

In Brașov county, the car construction industry, the metal processing industry, the pharmaceutical, food and wood processing industry, as well as the construction, transport and service sectors, have developed.

It is still a place for growth in activities such as agriculture, financial intermediation and insurance, professional, scientific and technical activities, information and communications, environmental protection, but also industry, tourism, infrastructure construction (highway, airport, intermodal terminal, regional hospital).

Important investments in Brasov

Brașov International Airport is an airport located in Ghimbav, at a distance of 12 km from Brașov.

The project and plan cost about 70 million euros. The runway has a length of 2820 m, a width of 45 m and concrete approaches of 7.5 m each. Any type of aircraft will be able to land and take off on the airport runway, except for the A380, which requires a special terminal and a longer runway.

Brașov will be the 17th city in Romania to have an airport. The airport terminal in Brașov will be the third in size, after Henri Coandă Airport in Otopeni and Cluj-Napoca Airport. The Brașov airport is expected to be operational in June 2023.

The Regional Hospital of Brașov is a modern, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and correctly sized hospital.

The capacity of the hospital will be 370,000 patients per year, both hospitalized and outpatients, and it will have the newest devices and medical equipment in Romania.

The project is fully compliant with the latest developments of the European healthcare strategy, including the Health 2020 program and the EU4Health program, and promotes European sustainable development objectives.

The multipurpose hall of Brasov will be built on the site of the former Municipal Stadium.

According to the technical project, it will have a capacity of 10,059 seats, and is being intended for use in sports competitions, concerts, conferences, congresses, and all kinds of cultural activities. The hall is build in compliance with the norms in the field, which ensures the organization of a wide variety of sports competitions.

A warm-up room will also be built in the Multipurpose Hall, which is also equipped with stands for the public with a capacity of 1,152 seats, resulting in a total number of 11,211 seats in the entire complex.
